Commencement Information 2015
Congratulations to the members of the 2015 Graduating Class!
You have worked very hard to earn your degree and you must be looking forward to celebrating this accomplishment with your faculty, family and friends!
Students who completed/will complete their degree requirements during the following timeframe: 2014 Intersession (ending July 12, 2014) – 2015 Spring Quarter (ending June 6, 2015) are invited to participate in this year’s ceremony.
WHEN AND WHERE:
Commencement will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center, One Sabin Street, Providence, RI, on Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m. (This is NOT the same building as the Dunkin Donuts Center, which is also located in Providence.) Directions can be found at: http://www.riconvention.com. Graduates must arrive by 9:45 a.m. The ceremony typically lasts 2 ½ hours.
CAPS AND GOWNS:
You can order your cap and gown by completing the Graduation Form. If you have any questions, please contact Caitlin Beagan by phone at 401-739-5000 or 1-800-736-7744, ext. 3431 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Please put "Cap & Gown order" in the subject line.) There is no cost to you and you may keep your cap and gown as a keepsake.
• Plan to pick up your cap and gown at the NEIT Grad Fair, which will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Student Lounge on the East Greenwich Campus (watch for more details).
Honors and Honor Societies
Graduates who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) and the Alpha Chi Honor Society may choose to purchase a stole at the NEIT Bookstore or online from PTK (www.ptk.org) or Alpha Chi (www.alphachihonor.org) signifying their membership in the honor society. NEIT graduates who graduate with honors will not receive a stole unless they are a PTK or Alpha Chi member and purchase one; however, their names will be announced “with honors” when they cross the stage. If you have questions or would like to join one of the honor societies, contact Karen Arnold, Assistant Provost, in the Office of Teaching and Learning at email@example.com or 401-739-5000 ext. 3322.
Commencement will be a very special event for our graduates and their families. You may bring as many guests as you would like.
Information with more details about Commencement will be mailed to the homes of the graduates and posted online. If you do not receive information in the mail by mid-April, please contact Caitlin Beagan at 401-739-5000 ext. 3431 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
