Call for Volunteers RI FIRST FTC Robotic Challenge

The FIRST Tech Challenge (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) in Rhode Island is looking for technical professionals, educators, parents and all others interested in supporting middle and high school robotic teams.  Each season approximately 30 robotic teams design, build and competed with their robot in the RI FIRST Tech Challenge.

The 8th annual RI FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) tournament will be held on Saturday February 8, 2014 at the Automotive Technology Center at New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island.

The FTC tournament involves approximately 300 Rhode Island student teams putting their robots to the test. The teams compete in a timed technical challenge against each other. The day is full of teams cheering for the robots as well as the excitement of coming down to the wire to determine the winner. Adult volunteers are assigned key roles to keep the day moving.

We need you! We need you to work with student robotic teams as part of the tournament, work with a team over the course of the season, or offer to visit teams to talk about engineering or information technology as a career choice.  No need to be an expert in robotics to help out, just willing to support RI students and their interest in FTC.
