NEIT’s main campus in East Greenwich is located just 15 miles – a quick 20-minute drive – from Providence, Rhode Island’s lively capital city.  Providence combines the accessibility and friendliness of a small town with the culture and sophistication of a big city. NEIT students will appreciate living in close proximity to such a vibrant place featuring a thriving arts community, diverse neighborhoods, seven colleges, a renowned restaurant scene, shopping, and an active nightlife.

Do you like food and fun? Providence was ranked the top destination in the United States for “Food/Drink/Restaurants” by Travel + Leisure magazine in 2012!

Enjoy sports? Catch a Providence Bruins game (AHL), or visit nearby Pawtucket, RI to see the Pawtucket Red Sox, the minor league baseball Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Of course, Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots (NFL) and the New England Revolution (MLS), is a quick drive away as well. Nearby Newport, RI, is also home of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

How about the ocean and beach? Rhode Island is known as the Ocean State and has 384 miles of shoreline. Goddard State Park, Beachwood Beach, and the Potowomut River are just down the street from New England Tech, with opportunities for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and other water sports.

While NEIT will host a variety of social and education activities for students at its Student Center and in the residence hall, we also encourage students to get out and discover the surrounding area. Check out some of the following activities, grab some friends, and explore!
