Transportation Technology Career Fair Scheduled for March

On Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 9 am to 12 pm the Career Services Office will be hosting its annual Transportation Technology Career Fair on the Access Road Campus – 101 Access Road, Warwick, RI 02886. This is a private event, open only to NEIT students and graduates, so take advantage of this great networking opportunity! Current students and alumni from the following technologies are encouraged to attend: Automotive, Automotive w/ High Performance, Collision Repair, Marine and Automotive Service Management. Be sure to have your resumes ready and to dress in appropriate business attire.

Access Road Cookout a Success!

New England Tech would like to thank The Hinckley Yacht Company, Bald Hill Chrysler, RIPTA, Point Judith Marina and Carmax for attending the Access Road cookout on Thursday, October 15th. Students were able to speak with employers and learn about part-time opportunities and future jobs upon graduation.

NEIT to Host Two Open Houses, Criminal Justice & Automotive

Automotive Career Open House, Wednesday September 23, 2015, 3:00-6:00 pm

EAST GREENWICH, RI – Individuals interested in learning more about New England Institute of Technology’s (NEIT) Automotive and Criminal Justice Technology programs are invited to attend its upcoming open houses. Tours of the innovative, hands-on labs and classrooms will be conducted. Faculty, students, graduates, as well as Admissions, Financial Aid and Career Services representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

The Automotive Career Open House will be held at the college’s Warwick, Rhode Island  campus located at 101 Access Road. NEIT offers Associate in Science degree programs that include Automotive Technology, Automotive Technology with High Performance, and Auto Body/Collision Repair as well as a Bachelor of Science degree program in Automotive Service Management. Individuals will hear about the exciting career opportunities within the automotive industry and NEIT’s hands-on approach to learning. The college’s NEW Automotive Scholarships will also be revealed.

The Criminal Justice Open House will be held at NEIT’s Warwick, Rhode Island campus at 65 Access Road. The college offers Associate in Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree programs in Criminal Justice Technology.  In March, 2015, NEIT launched its flexible Criminal Justice Hybrid Bachelor of Science degree program designed for busy working professionals. This new hybrid program offers fully on-line courses while combining on-line activities with face-to-face classroom and lab experiences.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet faculty to learn about the various Criminal Justice Technology programs and to tour the college’s unique forensics and criminal justice facilities.

Grad Lands 1 of 16 Spots in BMW Step Program

Congratulations to Nick Mancini, a March 2015 graduate from the Auto Collision Repair Technology, for being accepted into the BMW Step Program! Nick is the first graduate from the Auto Collision Repair Technology to be accepted into the highly competitive Paint and Body program. Only 16 graduates nationwide are accepted into this program, with selections being made just once a year.

The Paint and Body program runs for eight months in two locations: Oxnard, CA and Woodcliff Lake, NJ. This program is separate from the Technician program, where seven other NEIT graduates from the Automotive Technology are currently training. This marks our eighth graduate from the Automotive Technology to be accepted into the BMW Step Program since December 2014. Congratulations to all!

2015 Transportation Technology Career Fair

10-Transport FairDealing with the challenges of this winter’s weather, 24 automotive, marine, and transportation employers located throughout New England were eager to attend New England Tech’s annual Transportation Technology Career Fair on March 10th to discuss employment opportunities with NEIT students. Representatives from automotive dealerships, collision shops, automotive supply companies, marinas, insurance companies and the military were actively recruiting students as more of their customers are having their vehicles and vessels serviced.

NEIT welcomed first time companies to the Fair: Orleans Auto Supply, State Auto Body, Nationwide Insurance, Oak Leaf Marina, D&D Auto, Toyota of Dartmouth/Check Collision, Newport Shipyard, and Wagner of Shrewsbury.

Paul Harden, Director of Transportation Technologies stated, “When talking to company representatives at the Transportation Career Fair who had hired our grads in the past, I was proud to hear them say how well prepared and trained NEIT’s graduates are for careers in both the automotive and marine fields.”
