Healthcare Careers Expo & Fair for Adult Learners

New England Institute of Technology will serve as the venue for this exciting expo being conducted by STAND (Students Taking Action Now w/Determination).
STAND is the voice of adult learners in Rhode Island. Its mission is to advocate for increased access and better quality programs for adult learners to improve their literacy skills, learn English, develop career skills, and build their family’s literacy.
STAND has been working with the Rhode Island Career and Tech School-Based Coordinators (SBC’s) to offer a Healthcare Careers Expo & Fair at New England Institute of Technology, One New England Tech Blvd., East Greenwich, RI, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The expo will begin at 10:00 am with a tour of NEIT’s new East Greenwich campus. The first session of workshops will run from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The second session will take place from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.
There will be employers, industry partners, and organizations presenting information and workshops to both adult learners and high school seniors. Adult learners can sign up for two workshops choosing one of three topics offered in each session. Topics covered will include: Becoming a CNA, How to Move Up a Career Ladder in Healthcare, and Opportunities for Careers in the Care New England Network.
Register now! Adult learners and staff can register and attend at no cost. The purpose of this expo is to provide individuals with a better understanding of the numerous careers available in the healthcare field as well as an opportunity to network with employers and other adult learners. For those individuals who may be interested in furthering their education in the healthcare field, New England Tech offers programs in nursing, surgical technology, occupational therapy assistant technology, physical therapist assistant technology, clinical medical assistant technology ,respiratory care, health information management technology, and healthcare management.
