The New England Institute of Technology library will host an evening with author Andrea Perron whose true life story was the basis of the recent suspense film, âThe Conjuring.â Â This movie tells the tale of how world renownedÂ paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, were contacted to assist the Perron family terrorized by a dark presence in their secluded farmhouse in Harrisville, RI. James Wan, director of such movies as âSawâ and âDead Silenceâ, brought the Perron familyâs experience to the big screen.Â
The public is invited to meet Andrea Perron who will speak at New England Tech on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Presentation Theater at the collegeâs East Greenwich campus located at One New England Tech Blvd.Â Perron will discuss her familyâs experience living in the house for ten years during the 1970âs, as well as share the making of the film and movie clips.Â There will be a question and answer period.
Perron has written two books on the hauntings entitled, âHouse of Darkness House of LightâÂ , Volume One and Two, with a third sequel scheduled for future publication.Â A book signing will be held in the NEIT library after the presentation. The event is free of charge.
