- Recent changes in Environmental Protection requirements have created a huge demand for technicians with a higher degree of training and expertise.
- Students learn the design, theory of operation and service techniques of the many systems.
- In-depth training in engine, transmission, electrical, fuel and emissions systems.
- Curriculum also includes electronic ignition systems, computerized engine control and fuel injection systems.
- Program utilizes industry standard, up-to-date electronic engine/system diagnostic test equipment.
- Service and install systems which are specific to marine applications.
- Faculty members factory certified by ABYC, Volvo, and Mercury Marine.
- The Marine Technology Department is the New England training site for Volvo Penta Marine with advanced training available for qualified students. Students completing the Marine Technology Program may also qualify to become certified Volvo Penta Technicians.
- Scholarships are available for qualified applicants through our close ties with the American Boatbuilders and Repairs Association (ABBRA), the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) and the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA).
