Network Engineering & Computer Servicing Technology

Associate's Degree Program

Key program elements:
Three quarter core curriculum to provide students with Software Engineering Technology and Network Engineering Technology courses to prepare them to select their concentration for quarters four through six.

Curriculum focuses on Microsoft desktop and server courses as well as Cisco CCNA and A+ courses.
 

Externship course available in quarter six during which students work off-campus in an organization where they will practice and enhance their technical skills.
Students are prepared to take the Microsoft MCP exams, the CISCO CCNA exam and the CompTIA A+ exams. Elluminate software will be used to give students the opportunity to attend class either synchronously or asynchronously. There will be specific software and hardware requirements in order to participate in this on-line program.

Microphone/headset/speakers (USB preferred)

VMWare workstation
Qbasic
Windows XP Professional
Office 2003: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Windows 2003 Server
Visual Studio 2005
Other than VMWare workstation, for which there is a $125 cost to students, all other software is made available to students free of charge. Additionally, on-line students must be capable of installing and maintaining their own computer's hardware and software.
