Greetings from the Director of Nursing, Dayle F. Joseph, EdD. MS, MED, RN
Welcome to New England Institute of Technology's Nursing Program.
New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) offers two programs in Nursing: an associate degree in Nursing that can be completed in as little as 21 months, and a bachelor's degree in Nursing (Rhode Island's first fully on-line Bachelor's in Nursing program) that can be completed in as little as an additional 18 months. Both programs are the newest Nursing programs offered in Rhode Island, and are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
The Mission of NEIT is to provide specialized degree programs which prepare students for careers in the health care, technical and professional fields. All of our Nursing faculty have had years of practical experience in the Nursing field, and bring that experience into the classroom and the laboratories for the benefit of our students. Our Simulation (Sim) Labs feature mannequins that are programmed to act like real patients. Based on their experiences in the Sim Labs, students enter the clinical field work sites feeling comfortable that they understand the skill sets needed to take care of their patients. Associate degree graduates are prepared to sit for the national licensing examination (NCLEX), and are prepared for employment as entry level nurses in the general health care communities.
Today's health care environment requires nurses with baccalaureate degrees. NEIT offers the first fully on-line RN to BSN program in Rhode Island which you can enter seamlessly after you complete the associate degree in Nursing. The RN to BSN program was flexibly designed to address the needs of the working nurse, and can be completed in as little as 18 months. Click here to learn more about NEIT's RN to BSN Online Program.
Embarking on a nursing career is exciting and challenging. At NEIT, we will provide you the opportunity to accomplish this challenge.
