In The Area
Our main campus is in East Greenwich, Rhode Island – an historic, scenic town with a lively social scene. Within seconds of NEIT are restaurants, a movie theater, super market, pharmacy and more. The trendy downtown district is by a scenic boating harbor with a wide range of restaurants and funky boutiques.
Our campus is located just 15 miles – a quick 20-minute drive – from Providence, Rhode Island’s lively capital city. Providence combines the accessibility and friendliness of a small town with the culture and sophistication of a big city, including a thriving arts community, historic architecture, diverse neighborhoods, seven colleges, a renowned restaurant scene, shopping and an active nightlife.
Are you a ‘foodie’?
Providence was ranked the top destination in the United States for “Food/Drink/Restaurants” by Travel + Leisure magazine. The greater metro Providence area offers cuisines from around the world, and many restaurants receive national critical acclaim.
Catch a Providence Bruins game (AHL), or visit nearby Pawtucket, RI to see the Pawtucket Red Sox, the minor league baseball Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Of course, Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots (NFL) and the New England Revolution (MLS), is a quick drive away as well.
How about the ocean and beach?
Rhode Island is known as the Ocean State and has 384 miles of shoreline. Goddard State Park, Beachwood Beach and the Potowomut River are just down the street from New England Tech, with opportunities for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and other water sports. Nearby Newport, RI, is an international yachting capital resort complete with beaches, dozens of restaurants and some of the oldest and most well-preserved Colonial architecture in the country.
