NEIT Wins its First Regional Esports Competition

East Greenwich, RI - New England Institute of Technology’s (NEIT) Rocket League esports team competed in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) finals on December 4, 2022, in Worcester, MA and won the NECC Rocket League Title in the Emergents Atlantic Division by defeating Assumption University (Worcester, MA) 4-0. NEIT’s esports program is relatively new, which makes the December 4th win especially important since it represents the team’s first playoff victory, first trophy, and the first invitation to a national competition which will be held in the spring.

Henry Winkler, an Emmy Award-winning actor, director and author will be back for an encore performance at New England Tech’s commencement. Winkler is a familiar figure to the NEIT community. He delivered the 2006 commencement address and was immensely popular with students and their families. His message of hope, determination and succeeding when others doubt your abilities, resonated strongly with attendees.

Pawtucket and NEIT Agree to Bring New University Opportunities to Residents

PAWTUCKET- New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) has announced its agreement with the City of Pawtucket, Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket (BGCP) and Pawtucket Central Falls Development (PCFD) to provide greater access to higher learning opportunities for students and adult learners in Pawtucket. NEIT is establishing a Pawtucket presence with a new University Resource Center downtown at 2 Bayley Street, a property owned by PCFD.

NEIT Announces the Launch of its Practical Nurse Program to Aid in Nursing Shortage

Dr. Douglas H. Sherman, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Tech, announced that the university’s College of Health Sciences, in conjunction with its Department of Nursing, will offer a Practical Nurse (PN) program starting in March 2022. This new program was developed in response to the nursing shortage both locally and nationally. The Practical Nurse program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

NEIT to Offer Free Financial Literacy Course to Rhode Island High School Students

Since 2016 NEIT has been a provider of free college courses for high school students through the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) All Course Network (ACN) program. RIDE has extended registration for an all-important online course “Planning Your Financial Future” until July 19, 2021 when the class will begin.
