East Greenwich, RI - New England Institute of Technology’s (NEIT) Rocket League esports team competed in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) finals on December 4, 2022, in Worcester, MA and won the NECC Rocket League Title in the Emergents Atlantic Division by defeating Assumption University (Worcester, MA) 4-0. NEIT’s esports program is relatively new, which makes the December 4th win especially important since it represents the team’s first playoff victory, first trophy, and the first invitation to a national competition which will be held in the spring.
Henry Winkler, an Emmy Award-winning actor, director and author will be back for an encore performance at New England Tech’s commencement. Winkler is a familiar figure to the NEIT community. He delivered the 2006 commencement address and was immensely popular with students and their families. His message of hope, determination and succeeding when others doubt your abilities, resonated strongly with attendees.

Sherman, Provost and Senior Vice President at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), is pleased to announce that a team of eight New England Tech students received several awards at the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) International Business Conference 2022. This was the third consecutive year that a virtual conference was held with an increased number of high-quality teams competing from across the globe.

PAWTUCKET- New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) has announced its agreement with the City of Pawtucket, Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket (BGCP) and Pawtucket Central Falls Development (PCFD) to provide greater access to higher learning opportunities for students and adult learners in Pawtucket. NEIT is establishing a Pawtucket presence with a new University Resource Center downtown at 2 Bayley Street, a property owned by PCFD.
Dr. Douglas H. Sherman, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Tech, announced that the university’s College of Health Sciences, in conjunction with its Department of Nursing, will offer a Practical Nurse (PN) program starting in March 2022. This new program was developed in response to the nursing shortage both locally and nationally. The Practical Nurse program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
NEIT's Executive Vice President, Scott Freund, announced that the university recently earned the #1 ranking for affordable online RN-BSN programs in Rhode Island by https://www.rntomsn.org/, a widely used online resource for registered nurses interested in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) education.
Since 2016 NEIT has been a provider of free college courses for high school students through the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) All Course Network (ACN) program. RIDE has extended registration for an all-important online course “Planning Your Financial Future” until July 19, 2021 when the class will begin.
