Financial Planning for Alumni

March 17, 2015

Sometimes just hearing the phrase “financial planning” may cause a bit of anxiety. Whether you are planning for retirement or just starting out after graduation, it is important to have a solid grasp on your financial needs.

This spring, the New England Tech Alumni Association will sponsor financial planning sessions for alumni conducted by Pioneer Financial Group, a comprehensive financial services firm established in 1999, with headquarters in Warwick, RI, and additional branch offices in Westerly, RI, Avon, CT, Springfield, MA, and Mars Hill, ME.  Two programs will be offered, Financial Basics” and “Passport to Retirement”, which will help individuals plan for their future.

“Financial Basics” is a three-hour session geared towards recent grads and alumni who seek financial guidance.  The class begins with the basics including how to establish a budget and the initial planning for retirement.  The course will be held at NEIT’s East Greenwich campus on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

“Passport to Retirement consists of two three-hour sessions.  This program will show how to define and create a retirement plan, assess the costs, evaluate sources of income, invest for the future, protect health and wealth, receive funds from retirement plans, and manage estate distribution.  The course will be held at the NEIT’s East Greenwich campus with two sessions available.  Session 1: Thursday, May 7, 2015 and Thursday, May 14, 2015. Session 2: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 and Tuesday, May 19, 2015.  Both sessions will run from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
