NEIT Earns Distinctive Military Friendly® Schools Designation

2016_Military Friendly_Logo_150x150EAST GREENWICH, RI – New England Institute of Technology announced today that the university has received the Military Friendly® Schools designation joining more than 1400 higher-education institutions in the United States who have been recognized for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students.

Developed through more than a decade of research by veteran-owned Victory Media headquartered in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Military Friendly® ratings and resources provide service members and their families with information needed to make decisions about civilian careers and education opportunities. Veterans benefit when companies and schools invest in engaging, educating and employing them.

New England Tech’s data was compiled through Military Friendly® Schools annual survey open to more than 10,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. Each year, schools completing the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria, and weightings developed with the assistance of an advisory board. Research findings are compiled and weighted according to the following categories to determine a final score:  academic credibility, support on campus, admissions and orientation, graduation and retention rates, military student body composition, career outcomes, government approvals, tuition assistance, flexibility, and military spouse policies.

Many employers contact the Career Services Office at New England Institute of Technology seeking military and veteran students and NEIT graduates for job opportunities. Patricia Blakemore, Director of Career Services stated, “Our military students and grads are highly prepared for the job market through the education they receive at New England Tech coupled with their military training.   These individuals are a most sought after group of candidates by prospective employers.”
