New England Tech hosted its 6th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Alpine Country Club in Cranston, RI.

Thirty-five foursomes competed for the tournament’s number one spot.  Congratulations goes to the 1st place foursome of Tom Forsythe, John Sayles, Frank Previti and Brendan McLaughlin from DiSanto, Priest & Co.  Each of these players received a $150 gift certificate to La Masseria Restaurant in East Greenwich, RI. For Tom Forsythe (pictured in the red shirt) the event was especially exciting when he shot a hole-in-one on the 12th hole, winning a Krank Golf Formula 5 Driver sponsored by BMW of Warwick. Tom also won the “closest to the pin” contest since you can’t get much closer than that!

Second place winners were Robert Rainville, Alan Lao, John McNulty and Charlie Perry representing Ruggieri Brothers, Inc.  Each player received a $100 gift certificate to Besos Tea House in East Greenwich, RI.  Third place went to Greg Coady, Matt Finger, Kerry Cole, and John Feldman representing Chartwells.  Each player received a $50 gift certificate to Bistro 9 in East Greenwich, RI.  Our thanks to these establishments for their generous donations.

Winners of the Longest Drive contest were Robin Degraide from Design Fabricators and Nick Soares from Anodyne, Corporation.

The success of the golf tournament is attributed sponsors, players and in-kind donors.  It is with great appreciation that we acknowledge those sponsors who made the tournament one to remember.

Mark your calendar for Monday, July 13, 2015, when the 6th annual New England Tech Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. For the third consecutive year, Terry Regan, President of Regan Heating and Air Conditioning, and 1984 NEIT grad Vincent Rossi, President of Rossi Electric, will serve as Honorary Co-Chairs for this year’s tournament. More than $83,000 was raised at the 2014 tournament to benefit NEIT’s Scholarship Fund.

The financial success of any fundraising event depends greatly on the generosity of sponsors. The 2015 Golf Committee is proud to announce this year’s sponsors to date. Platinum Sponsors: Regan Heating and Air Conditioning and DiFazio Site Corporation; Titanium Sponsor: Rossi Electric; Silver Sponsors: Chartwells, TD Bank, and DiSanto Priest & Co.; and Bronze Sponsors: Ruggieri Brothers, Inc., Synet, Inc., RI Security, Shawmut Metal Products, and Roney & Labinger, LLP.

“The golf tournament is a great way to connect with co-workers, alumni, sponsors, vendors and friends of the college while raising scholarship money for our students,” stated Joan Segerson, NEIT’s Director of Development and Alumni Relations. “Last year’s tournament was a great success on every level, and the 2015 Golf Committee is anxious to keep the momentum going.”

If you are interested in playing in the tournament or donating a tee sign, raffle item or auction prize, email Joan Segerson at jsegerson@neit.edu or call ext. 3704. For more tournament information, visit www.neit.edu/About-Us/Alumni-Association/Alumni-Golf-Tournament.
