Construction Management with Jackson Bennett

A NEW ENGLAND TECH SUCCESS STORY

“When you put in the work, that’s when opportunities show up.”   – Jackson Bennett, Construction Management, ’17

Jackson Bennett (Construction Management, ‘17), one of NEIT’s successful alumni, is making his mark. Like many students, Jackson’s path to success wasn’t always a straight line. NEIT prepared him every step of the way.

Jackson decided to transfer to New England Tech from another college to pursue his passion – professional building trades. He earned his associate degree in building construction technology and then his bachelor’s in construction management.

From intern at Cranshaw Construction to Assistant Superintendent

“The biggest game changer was the internship that Career Services helped me land with Cranshaw Construction in Boston, who at the time was building NEIT’s 400-bed smart-dorm, Meltzer Residence Hall. I spent almost a year working with Cranshaw finishing the building. They offered me an Assistant Superintendent job before I graduated. After I finished my degree, I moved to Boston to work with them.”

Now Overseeing NEIT’s New Vet Tech Building, Jackson’s Journey has Come Full Circle

“Six years later, I am still working for Cranshaw as an Assistant Superintendent, overseeing the new, state-of-the-art Veterinary Technology building construction – right here on the New England Tech campus. It’s come full circle, and I couldn’t be happier where I ended up.”

Jackson’s leadership, diligence, experience and communication skills make him an ideal Assistant Superintendent. He manages technicians, oversees building plans and safety codes, and meets with NEIT executives among many other responsibilities.

“When you put in the work, that’s when opportunities show up.” Jackson couldn’t have said it better!
